Walmart Proposes Camarillo Store in Old Town Shopping Center

January 26, 2012

Walmart has officially applied to open a Walmart Express store in the Camarillo Old Town Plaza.

If approved, the 36,000 square-foot store would occupy the location of the former Linens ‘n Things.

The store has also applied for permits to operate a pharmacy.

All applications are currently pending before various City of Camarillo commissions.

The store has also filed for a state permit, but not a city permit, to sell beer and wine at the location.

Walmart Express is a smaller version of the typically 185,000 square-feet supercenters.

If approved, the Camarillo location would join Ventura County Walmart operations in Simi Valley and Oxnard. The company also plans to build a store in Ventura.
