Model Allegedly Killed in ‘Murder-for-Hire Plot’
June 28, 2010
Camarillo resident Kelly Soo Park, who was arrested last week for the murder of Juliana Redding, is expected to be arraigned today.
Prosecutors claim Park’s employer, Dr. Munir Uwaydah paid her $250,000 three weeks before the killing and paid her family $113,400 shortly before her arrest, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The Times reported Park received $10,000 a month in salary while employed by Uwayduh in addition to the two larger lump-sum payments.
Prosecutors also claim Juliana Redding’s father, Greg Redding, was involved in a failed business deal with Uwaydah. Uwaydah was convinced in 2005 of defrauding a medical supply company and is currently under investigation for filing bogus insurance claims.
Uwaydah’s attorney, Henry Fenton, denied his client had any connection to the murder of Redding. He also claimed to be unaware of of the allegations about payment to Park or current fraud investigations.
Parks roomate, Ronnie Wayne Case, 34, was also arrested in connection with the case but has not been formally charged.
